Byzantine Silver gilt Ring with Christian monogram
8th - 12th century AD
Large Byzantine silver gilt ring. Circular bezel showing an incised Byzantine block monogram and a small Christian cross in centre. The shoulders are finely decorated, plain ring band.
Outside diameter: 24 x 27,7 mm
Inside diameter: 20,7 x 19,5 mm
Weight: 21,1 g
Condition: good solid condition, heavy and wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use, parts of the original gilding still visible. See images for own impression.
