An Etruscan or could also be a Romano-Egyptian gold ring comprising a round-section hoop with tapering ends, a swivel-mounted ellipsoid cell with an inset carnelian scarab depicting Romulus & Remus- Romulus and Remus are twin brothers, whose story tells the events that led to the founding of the city of Rome and the Roman Kingdom by Romulus. Fine condition; wearable; D:23mm/L:34mm; 18.85g; Provenance: Property of a professional Ancient art and jewelry expert; previously with a London gallery; initially from a private British collection formed in the 1970-1990.
