An antique yellow metal (tests as high carat), black enamel and cabochon emerald set ring, size G/H, gross weight 5.9 grams. Condition: Overall quite worn and well used condition. The stone appears to have been repolished on one side (chip removal??). There is a large chip on the other side, along with numerous surface abrasions across the surface of the stone in general. Closed back setting. Visible loss to the black enamel within the setting, shoulders and shank in general. Shank a little mis-shapen. There is a split and some loss to the stone setting in one particular area. Tiny splits to the metal where the shank joins the ring head. Probable old repair to the underside or the shoulder where the shank joins the ring head. Some loss to the raised decoration around the shank exterior. Enamelled motif to the underside of the ring head.
