2nd-1st century BC. A gold finger ring with swivel bezel, inset carnelian cloison, intaglio grazing horse motif. Cf. Chadour, A.B., Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 54, for type. 4.52 grams, 24.90mm overall, 20.17mm internal diameter (approximate size British T, USA 9 1/2, Europe 21.26, Japan 20) (1"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired on the London art market in the 2000s; accompanied an independent specialist report and valuation by graduate gemmologist and jewellery expert Anna Rogers, GIA GG, BA, Gem-A, ref. no.167078/7/10/2020; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no.10126-167078.
