Roman Gemstones in Gold Double Bezel Ring
3rd-4th century AD
A pair of red carnelian intaglios, one with a flaming altar motif and the other with a standing worshipper holding a branch; set into a possibly later gold double ring with an applied ribbed band set between the hoops, each ring with a raised cell to the bezel, applied collar and granules. 10.40 grams, 22.27mm overall, 17.60mm internal diameter (approximate size British M, USA 6, Europe 12.46, Japan 12) (1"). Very fine condition.
