Special medieval signet ring, probably German from the 14th century
Stylised animal heads are on both sides of the ring, which merge into floral decor below
Oval signet plate - letters are recognisable on the side, signet in the form of a lion
Blacksmith hallmark (dots above a Gothic a) is recognisable on the interior (bottom) of the ring.
The finely crafted animal heads support the expressive / superior position of the ring wearer, which is also reflected in the ‘lion’ (king of all animals) signet.
The gold-plating is preserved in places. Meaningful sample of Medieval blacksmithing.
