19th-20th century AD. A substantial silver finger ring comprising a D-section hoop and lobed bezel, stud to the underside and lateral cells with turquoise inserts, four serpents to the bezel supporting a square calligraphic panel. 44.5 grams, 42.23mm overall, 18.93mm internal diameter (approximate size British Q 1/2, USA 8 1/4, Europe 18.12, Japan 17) (1 3/4"). Property of a Mayfair lady; formerly in an important London collection formed since 1965. Fine condition. A large wearable size.
