A Gold Viking Spring Ring With Sheet Of Gold Decorated With Patterns. Made Of Higher Than 20K Gold.
The ring is formed from a single wire forming the shank in a decorative twist design, approximately 19mm width at the widest point, circa 9th-11th century.
Complex rings composed of solely a single wire were a popular style for Viking craftsmen, made usually from bronze or silver, it has been decorated with a sheet of gold with Triangular/Circle designs stamped on it. This particular ring is a rare museum quality example all in gold.
